　　A new base(基地) opened to Asian elephants in Yunnan Province recently.The construction(施工）started at the end of 2020 and 1 (complete) in May 2021.

　　With increasing forest coverage in the region,the grasslands that the elephants prefer have 2  (gradual) become less, making it much 3 (hard) for the elephants to find enough grass than before.This partly explains 4 the wild Asian elephants have often left their protected areas and entered the nearby villages in recent years. 　　The construction of this new base is also a good way to protect Asian elephants that are under first-class state protection in China. There are 185 wild Asian elephants now there, 10 increase of 105from the end of the last century. And this population continues to grow.
